Geoff Leigh: "Be-bop at 11. Kerouac at 13. Home grown at 15." Dropped out of sociology course at University. Played with such notables as Duffy Power, John Marytn, Kevin Ayers & Mouseproof. Was also featured in an Italian movie "The Queer and the Erotic" with the Exploding Galaxy. Joined Henry Cow in 1972. Played on Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells Concert and TV show. He plays soprano, alto and tenor saxophones, flutes and occasional clarinet. A familiar figure for many years on the London busking scene where he met his lady, Catherine. Catherine Williams: An exile from the theatre world. She studied piano at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Was cast as a lunatic in Peter Brook's Marat/Sade. Did some modeling for Vogue. Sang in the Tubular Bells Concert and recorded with Henry Cow. She plays Selmer electric piano, glockenspiel, sings and also extracts strange and beautiful sounds from piano frames. Gerry Fitz-Gerald: Played around Edinburgh with the Screaming Citizens and other local bands before going on tour backing visiting artists. Set up an experimental music workshop in Westbourne Grove in 1967 where he not only jammed with such musicians as Larry Coryell and Jack de Johnette, but also built Traffic's PA system and the Giflid (a kind of string synthesizer). He recorded the Mouseproof album with Geoff Leigh then split to Paris, fell in with Gong, did some busking and a gig on French radio. Back in England, he designed Hawkwind's Space Opera equipment, then teamed up with fellow boozer Archie Leggatt in 747. Went on to work on his own electronic music before returning with Geoff in the Radars. Gerry plays a Burns TR2 guitar and uses a rare Baby Binson Echo machine as well as various effects pedals and gadgets. Jack Monck: Used to run a club in Cambridge, which became a focal point for various local bands such as Henry Cow. He also jammed with visiting US bluesmen such as Lowell Fulson, Otis Spann and BB King. Joined Delivery, toured with Alexis Korner and Lol Coxhill. Played with Syd Barrett and Twink in the ill fated "Stars" then formed his own band Rocksoff. Jack plays a Fender bass. Charles Hayward: The dark horse of the group. Played in Quiet Sun with Bill McCormick and Phil Manzanera. Joined High Tide and then went to France to play with Gong. An ex-schoolteacher who has done a lot of work in experimental theatre. His drum kit is basically a Ludwig but is augmented by a bizarre assortment of bells, cymbals, tom toms, tambourines and tin cans.
